Details

The mosque is located at Sangaon village in Duosuo Union No. 5, 2 km north of Kalmegh Hat in Baliadangi upazila. It is not possible to know the exact history of the mosque, even though it is not clear which mosque was built in ancient times. It is believed that the mosque was built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam for the worship of the worshipers and the performance of prayers. The mosque has 3 domes and 3 doors. The terracotta plaques in the mosque had portraits of various designs which are now almost extinct. There is a pucca well on the south side of the mosque. There is a vague Bengali inscription of burnt soil on the well. On the east side of the mosque is the tomb of "Sudhibad Pir". It is known to the locals that Mr. "Sudhibad Pir" came to this area to practice and propagate the religion but it is not clear from which country he went to this area. After the death of Mr. Pir, his body was buried on the east side of the mosque.

The demands of the locals can be preserved by constructing similar buildings with the help of the Archaeological Department. Although the mosque is very old, it is still protected and regular prayers are offered in the mosque.
