Asia's largest traditional ancient vine Surjapuri mango tree Location: Village: Mandumala, Block: Harinmari, Upazila: Baliadangi, District: Thakurgaon. Breed Name: Surjapuri Scientific name: Mangifera indica (Mangifera indica) Age of the tree: approximately 220 (two hundred and twenty years). Currently the fourth generation owns the plant.
Characteristics of the tree: Suryapuri variety creeping giant shaped mango tree spreads over an area of about two bighas. It looks like a green hill from a distance. The height of the mango tree is 70 feet, and the breadth is 19.8 feet Ges the circumference is 515 feet. A total of 19 thick branches emerge from the main stem of the tree and cling to the ground like an octopus, giving the tree a distinctive feature. Each branch branched away from the main stem and sank to the ground to give rise to new roots, each resembling an individual tree. Protruding like an octopus, the roots sprouting from each branch lying on the ground indicate that the tree will live for hundreds of years more.
Characteristics of Mangoes: The mangoes are small, medium in size. Each mango weighs around 140-160 grams. Although the mango has a mild taste, it is very tasty to eat, juicy, fragrant Ges thin skin and small pulp. All these characteristics have given the mango a special flavor.
